June 18-19 and July 16-17
Meet at: Dinosaur Journey Museum, Fruita at 8:00 AM
Minimum Age: 10 years old. Guests ages 16 or under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Description:
Get a double helping of paleontology by coupling a dig at Mygatt-Moore Quarry with working in
the paleo lab, learning the skills to prepare fossils. Participants will spend a full day in the
Dinosaur Journey Fossil Preparation Lab before heading out to Mygatt-Moore Quarry to
excavate dinosaur bones. Our expert paleontologists will be there to guide you every step of the
way. This is a perfect match for enthusiasts and future paleontologists alike.
Day 1 Lab Difficulty: Easy. No hiking, but participants should expect to spend the day sitting and
performing small, repetitive tasks on delicate projects.
Day 2 Dig Difficulty: Closed-toed shoes are required. No hiking is required on this expedition, but

For a smooth registration experience, we recommend registering for one event at a time (e.g., don't add a Dino Dig and a guided hike to your cart at the same time).
We also recommend ensuring your information is correct before moving forward. Once you proceed to the next page, if you need to adjust anything you will need to start over.
