Description:
Discover the prehistoric world in Western Colorado on a paleontologist-led hike on the Trail Through Time. Learn why this area is so full of fossils and how we are still discovering new secrets to the past through the science of paleontology.
Difficulty: 1.5 mile loop, easy to moderate trail.
What to Bring: Expeditioners should dress for hiking outdoors in summer: wide-brimmed hat, sturdy closed-toed shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, one or two water bottles (32 oz recommended), and bug spray.
Itinerary:
8:00 am – meet at Dinosaur Journey in Fruita, CO: participants will sign a health waiver at this time
8:10 am – Depart for Rabbit Valley.
8:45 am – Hike the Trail through time
11:30 am – End Hike
Noon-ish – tour of Prep Lab
